Czech Astronomical Society is a voluntary association of professional and amateur astronomers and friends of astronomy and related sciences in the Czech Republic. CAS has also corporate members (e.g. Astronomical Institute of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic). CAS was founded on December 8, 1917 in Prague.

Variable Star and Exoplanet Section is a scientific section of Czech Astronomical Society, whose members are concerning in observation and studying of variable stars and recently in extrasolar planet. The Variable Star Section of CAS was founded in 1924.
