How to precise light curve

Sekce PPH ČAS, 21. 5. 2018

We are very happy to introduce you a new English written article from our great amateur astronomer Reinhold Fr. Auer. Reinhold is very active observer and for last several years, he has been improving his photometric methods to get light curves with highest possible precision. Precise photometric measurement is crucial not only for accurate determination of the time of minima of eclipsing binaries or maxima of intrinsic variables, but also for detection of subtle light curve variation due to stellar spots or as a result of so called Blazkho effect.

In attached PDF article, Reinhold describes his experiences with variable star photometry and shows how one can easily improve light curve precision in several steps.
