New transiting exoplanet HAT-P-14 in Hercules
G. Torres, G. A. Bakos et al. has published another transiting exoplanet by HAT-Net. The targed is bright star in Hercules constelation 3086-00152 (V = 9.98), transits are 4,5 mmag depth and 131 minutes long. Orbital period 4.62 days.

For more information see the discovery paper:
HAT-P-14b: A 2 Jupiter-mass exoplanet transiting a bright F star

Object has been already added to ETD and TRESCA databases, so transit predictions are available now.

AV CMi - eclipsing binary with transiting exoplanet?
A. Liakos and P. Niarchos has found periodic transit-like features in light curve of ecplipsing binary AV CMi (EA, Porb = 2.277751 d). The third object is orbiting one of the binary component on inner orbit with period P' = 0.5192237 days. Published orbital elements for transits are

Tmid = HJD 2454521.36315 + 0.5192237d * E

Transit duration is 3.3 hours (200 minutes) and the depth is about 2.6% (0.028 mag).
Apparent magnitude of AV CMi is about 11.5 mag and EB amplitude is 0.3 mag.

We have prepared predictions of the probably transit for observers here.

Results of preliminary study published by Liakos and Niarchos leads to a conclusion, that the third object must be a brown dwarf or hot jupiter exoplanet.

For more information see: A. Liakos, P. Niarchos, Preliminary results for the triple system AV CMi

Welcome to TRESCA web page about transiting exoplanets and its observation.

TRESCA is an acronym from words TRansiting ExoplanetS and CAndidates.

More than 50 exoplanets has an orbit oriented in space in direction to the Earth and we can see dark planet body transiting in front of stellar disc. During this transits, observed brightness of the parent star decreases of about 0.003 - 0.04 mag.
